Parish Leadership Groups
The Pastoral Council is a consultative body that advises and assists the pastor in pastoral matters while fostering full participation of the entire parish in the life and mission of the Church. It is the planning body for the parish. Members reflect the multicultural and diverse realities of the community and are committed to promoting unity in the parish. The Council meets 6 times a year.
The Finance Council is a consultative body that advises and assists the pastor in financial matters. It works with the pastor to achieve the most responsible stewardship of parish material goods and resources. The Council meets 6 times a year.
Young Adult Group
The Holy Innocents Young Adult Group is comprised of young adults ages 20 to 35 who desire to learn more about their faith and grow deeper in faith with one another. The group meets twice a month both to socialize and to discuss and pray on a particular faith topic. In addition to the bimonthly meetings, the group also takes trips together, both social and religious in nature, and finds ways to participate and serve in the larger faith community of Holy Innocents Parish.
Non-perishable food items are distributed on the last Thursday and Friday of each month to those in need in our parish and neighborhood. Food is also available in emergency situations. Holiday meals are provided when possible. Non-perishable food is collected in Church on the 3rd Sunday of each month. Donations are gratefully accepted at any time.
Catholic Daughters of America is a national group of women whose purpose is to participate in the religious, charitable and educational ministries of the Church. Court Rose Cecilia is the local court which meets at Holy Innocents Parish, and Court St. Francis De Sales continues to meet at St. Joachim.
Juniata Action Committee (JAC) exists to promote a healthier and more harmonious community through mutual encouragement, relevant education, worthwhile projects, and better communication. Our goal is to create a community where love of God and love of neighbor enable us to demonstrate and celebrate our “unity in diversity.” JAC meets monthly to address neighborhood concerns.
Young in Spirit is a Senior Citizens organization which meets every Monday afternoon in the Rectory Meeting Room for companionship, recreation, and bingo and other games. Trips and various events are also sponsored.
